If you decide to use CCNow to sell items from your web site, then here is what you must do first, so I can add the CCNow buttons and shopping cart to your web site.
The following is paraphrased from the instructions provided by CCNow.
- Log in to your CCNow account by going to:
...and enter your CCNow Client ID and password.
- Choose the "Settings and Options" function.
In
these screens, you will make various
choices about running your business,
such as:
- Payment methods
- International shipping options
- Customer refund policies
- Fraud protection measures
- What type of "Buy-It" buttons to use
- Add your products to the Product List by clicking on "Your Products".
This
function will guide you through the
process of adding, modifying, or
deleting items from your Product
List. You will be able to specify
product names, prices, and product
varieties such as Size, Color,
Flavor, Inscription, etc.
- This
step is for whoever is building
(coding) your web page. If you are
not the web builder, skip this step
and go to step 5. If you are not the
web builder, then you will have to
trust your web builder enough to
give your web builder your
CCNow’s Client ID and password
so they can log in to your account to be able to generate the HTML code for each of your products, then modify the code to fit your web site, and lastly add the code to your web page(s).
To
get instructions on how to generate
the correct HTML codes to link the
products for sale via CCNow, go to
the Your Products function, and
click on "Generate HTML".
You will receive instructions on how
to link your Web site to CCNow, and
also how to test your site to be
sure that it is working properly.
- After
the CCNow buttons have been added to
your web site, you are ready to test
your account! Go to your web page,
click on a CCNow “Buy”
button, and proceed as though you
were making a real purchase.
To place test orders, simply type
the word
TEST
in place of the credit card number.
Please keep in mind that you cannot test CCNow by using a live credit card number, because it would constitute a "cash advance", which credit card companies do not allow on the Internet.
If all is well, congratulations! You have successfully set up your online store!
If all is not well, repeat the steps until you are satisfied with the test results.
After
the customer places an order, you'll
receive an E-mail message from
CCNow. The message contains all of
the details needed to fill each order,
plus all customer information.
In
case an E-mail message fails to arrive
for some reason, you should also
periodically log in to your CCNow
account and check your Pending Orders
screen which lists all orders that you
have not shipped yet.
