nPower - Content Management Service

YOU can edit most of the content of almost all of the pages in your web site, as often as you want, and whenever you want, with our optional “nPower Content Management Service (CMS)”. There is no need to contact Best By Design when you want to update or revise most of the content of your web site.

“nPower CMS” is ideal for:

• updating several pages in your web site,
• adding new, or removing old, items from your online catalog of items.
• presenting new promotional campaigns,
• adding customer comments that you’ve received,
• any other recurring event or activity or notice.

And whatever else you need to do.

You make a one time purchase of the “ nPower CMS” program then install it on your computer.

The program looks and works very much like an advanced word processor. You type in your text, and can adjust point size, do bold and italics, justification, images or graphics, tables, and more. There is an on-line tutorial to help you learn and use “nPower”.

There are a few restrictions on using “nPower CMS” to edit your web site. You cannot:

1. alter the site’s navigation system.
2. change the page header or footer.
3. modify any form on any page.

“nPower” is an additional cost option for your web site.

My “nPower CMS” allows you to edit the content* of virtually every page in your web site, whenever, and as often, as you want for only $60 per year, plus a one time cost for the “nPower CMS” software that needs to be installed on your computer.

* Generally, you cannot alter the top, left, or bottom areas of the web pages, or forms on a page.

Additional copies of the software might be required if you want to be able to edit your web pages from more than one computer. See the license agreement for particulars for your case. Generally, you can install the software on both your desktop computer and your notebook computer.

Using the nPower CMS software is similar to using an advanced word processor or desk top publishing program. There is even a “roll-back” feature if you make an error, or just decide that you don’t like your changes. And help is both on-line and a phone call away. Whatever you do to the content of the web site from your computer, I can access it from my computer to take whatever steps are needed.

The $60 per year fee includes the necessary modifications to your web site so you can use the nPower CMS system, one visit to your location for software installation and user training (but only in the 6 coastal counties of Mississippi), and year-long remote on-line assistance.

System requirements:

• x86-based PC (Intel Pentium, or AMD equivalent). 166 MHz minimum, 1 GHz or faster highly recommended.
• Microsoft Windows 98/NT/2000/ME/XP only.
• 200 MB minimum of available hard disk space for the program. More when editing your web site.
• 64 MB RAM minimum; 128 MB RAM recommended, in addition to the RAM needed to run your PC and other software. A total of 512 MB RAM or more is suggested, and 1 GB RAM highly recommended for optimum performance.
• SVGA color monitor at 800 x 600 pixels minimum, 1024 x 768 pixels or more highly recommended.
• CD-ROM drive for the disk version, or Internet connection for download version.
• Internet connection. 56k dial-up minimum, high-speed Internet access (cablemodem or DSL) highly recommended.
• Mouse or compatible pointing device.
