These
are just some of the many other things
you can have on your web site. (Some
limits or restrictions might apply.)
E-mail Form
- Your site visitor fills out a form on your web site then clicks the Submit button. The results of the form are E-mailed to you, or whatever address you specify.
BONUS
- If you use my web hosting service,
then after submitting the form, the
visitor will see either a
“success” page or an
“error” page that
resembles the rest of your site. I
strongly recommend that you have a
“Contact Us” form
instead of having your E-mail
address(es) on your web site. This
will greatly reduce the amount of spam you will receive.
Downloadable files or documents
- Your site visitor clicks a link which starts the download of a file or document. The file or document can be in virtually any format you want, but for best results, we strongly recommend that all documents be in PDF format, audio files be in either MP3 or in OGG Vorbis format, and movies/video be in MPG format. We can convert (but not edit) your document files from any of several formats (like TXT or RTF or DOC or WPD or WSD, or XCL, etc.) into PDF format. We do not edit your audio files, or convert them from one file format to another.
Note.
Due to the way the
RealNetworks’ RealPlayerOne
attmptes to “take over”
a computer, the way
Microsoft’s Windows Media
Player tries to lock down what it
plays, and that both try to
“phone home”, I do not
recommend using REAL or Windows
Media formats for sound or video
files.
“Hits” counter
- For example, this page has been viewed
times since I added this counter.
Site-level search box
- as used on the home page of this site. Allows your site visitors to search your web site for terms or phrases they are interested in.
FLASH Animations (movies)
- over 250 styles or types of transitions or effects are available. Images can also play a sound or music, and be “clickable”.
Password protection
- Individually password-protected pages, or one or more sections of the web site, or even the entire web site.
Other features are available. If you didn’t see what you were looking for, just ask.
