The
best way to evaluate a web site building
service is to see some of the sites
they’ve built. To see a list of
some web sites
that I’ve built for others, and links to those sites, click here.
To see some
sample “effects”
that can be included in your web site, click here.
Most business web sites should probably include at least the following information:
- Home page
- Clearly and concisely tells (and shows?) what your business does or sells. This assures your visitors that they are at the right site, and intices them to enter and look around.
- Product or Service page
- One or more pages that display or describe the product or service that you are selling.
- Frequently Asked Questions
- A FAQ page will help your customers get answers more quickly, increase the likelihood of making a sale, and reduce your workload. A FAQ page will also give search engine spiders good, keyword-rich content to index, and therefore make your site more likely to be in the results of a search.
- Contacts
- Could include your company’s mail and/or street addresses, phone number(s), business hours, department names & phone numbers, FAX numbers, pager or cellphone numbers, etc.
I suggest that your E-mail addresses NOT be listed on your web site
, due to the very high
likelihood of spammers
harvesting your addresses from
the web site. Instead, I suggest
having a contact form for your
site visitors to fill in with
their name and contact
information.
- Privacy Policy
- Explain what you will, and won’t, do with any information you obtain from the customer. This page is sometimes combined with the following Sales Policy page into a single Privacy & Sales Policy page.
- Sales Policy
-
Contains information like: how to
order, payment options, refunds and
returns, exchanges and damaged
merchandise, guarantee or warranty
information, shipping information,
etc. This page is sometimes combined
with the above Privacy Policy page
into a single Privacy & Sales
Policy page.
